Similar to other athletes both my university studies and my first job forced me to concentrate on these parts of my life and to leave my beloved sports behind me. Admittedly, other things came to the fore. After leaving high school I founded my own service company, which rose and demanded my fullest commitment. Also, my growing business at home gave me the opportunity to go to Monaco with a Young Entrepreneur Scholarship to study Business Administration.
These were very intense and tough times I had experienced and I don’t want to miss any of them due to many priceless experiences and encounters. However, after seven years I reluctantely decided to leave this path to completely change my life for the better.
I decided to take a long sabbatical and travelled to South East Asia in order to take up my old passion – the martial arts. It turned out to be of valuable support and a rock-solid base for my life change process in these hard times.
Without ever having ignored the pugnacious aspect I started to understand the lore of martial arts beyond its mere physical purpose in these times.
„Cagefighter“ is a story about how many young adults feel: They are unsatisfied with their jobs and their individual path of life. Spoilt for choice of many different available lifestyles, they are afraid to have opted for the wrong one and don’t live a life that makes them happy.
I know what I’m talking about.
As a young business administration graduate, I hurled myself into a promising investment banking career with a private bank of one of the richest industrial families in Germany. But the work as „high potential“ took its toll: 90-hour weeks, too much alcohol, too little sleep, permanent pressure to succeed and the feeling of emptiness and senselessness didn’t leave me unscathed.
I pulled the emergency brake and changed – EVERYTHING. Job off, dream on.
I would lie if I said it was an easy way. But every step was worth it.
Join me on my quest.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
